Facebook announces phone, HTC First & Home, a home screen launcher of social Android apps
Facebook today announced the Facebook phone called HTC First and Home, a home launcher of social Android apps. The HTC First is the pioneer Android-powered device that will ship with Facebook’s new Home app, available April 12th for $99.99 on AT&T with two year contract (while pre-orders start today). Home is intended to take over your home screen as well as lock screen- putting people and connections to them at the heart of your phone. It’s very visual, such as their new Cover Feed, which is a constant stream new updates with full screen photos with small captions- automatically cycling through the next. The suite of apps allow you to get notifications atop other apps and jump into conversations via a new feature called Chat Heads. The app will be available in Google Play April 12th.
