More pictures of Motorola's 'Shamu' Nexus 6 hit the web, Android

Up up until recently, info on Motorola’s reported Nexus 6 handset had not been forthcoming. Then we got a surge of reported specifications and our very first glance at the hardware.

Now a brand-new image has surfaced, supposedly revealing a working version of the Nexus 6 showing Android’s ‘About phone screen’.

The image appears to back up previous rumors of a 5.92-inch QHD screen thanks to the spaced-out positioning of the navigation secrets. But apart from a possiblity of rounded corners – another Shamu hint – it’s tough to make out much more from the picture.

Kernel of truth

Motorola’s Shamu Nexus 6 is reported to have gotten an updated kernel developed by Google and, according to Android Authorities, the kernel variation visualized in the leaked image is two months newer than the last variation seen in previous leaks.

The takeaway from that is this is very much most likely to be a straight Android Nexus device, as opposed to an added handset from Motorola with some tweaks to the OS.

Of course, we won’t know for sure up until Moto chooses to draw back the curtain – something that’s reported to be occurring on October 15/16.
